1. What is Nylon ?
Nylon is a synthetic fiber consisting of polyamide, first developed by DuPont in 1935. It has good overall performance, including mechanical properties, heat resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and self-lubrication, and low coefficient of friction, a certain degree of flame retardant, easy to process, suitable for glass fibers and other filler filler enhancement modification, to improve the performance and expand the scope of application, commonly used in military equipment, mountaineering ropes, and high-strength bags.

2. What is Polyester ?
Polyester is also a synthetic fiber, mainly composed of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which originated in the 1940s. It has excellent wrinkle resistance and shape retention properties, making clothes less prone to wrinkling during wear and able to maintain their original shape. Secondly, polyester fibers have a high degree of strength and elastic recovery, making woven fabrics strong and durable, while allowing them to be quickly restored to their original shape. In addition, polyester fibers are resistant to abrasion and do not stick to lint, giving fabrics a cleaner look.
3. Similarities between Nylon and Polyester :
-
Both are synthetic fibers
-
Lightweight, quick-drying and wrinkle-resistant properties
-
Widely used in bags, outdoor equipment and apparel
-
Can be treated with waterproof, tear-resistant, coating, etc.
4. Core differences between Nylon and Polyester :
-
Nylon price is about 1 times higher than polyester.
-
The same specification nylon is smoother and softer than polyester.
-
Abrasion resistance is not very different
-
Nylon has a little elasticity. Polyester has no elasticity
-
Nylon dyeing is more difficult than polyester dyeing
-
When burning nylon white smoke, polyester black smoke
-
Polyester is more resistant to high temperature than nylon.
-
polyester and nylon surface can be embroidered silkscreen, inkjet printing and hot stamping; polyester can do heat transfer printing

5. Which one is more suitable for your bag products ?
-
If you want to make outdoor bags, hiking bags, military bags → We suggest choosing nylon.
-
If you want to make student bags, advertising gift bags, daily backpacks → polyester is a more cost-effective choice
-
For budget-sensitive customers, high-density polyester (such as 600D, 900D) can also meet the needs of medium-high strength
